Constellation Paris | 1950 – 1970

Upcoming | 20 October - 20 December

Constellation Paris presents an open and cosmopolitan ecosystem, woven together by intersecting influences, intercultural dialogues, and unique trajectories in Paris between the 1950s and 1970s. The exhibition highlights this generation of artists from abroad who, without forming a homogeneous group, shared the same desire: to reinvent themselves, forge a personal artistic language, and add their voices to the collective narrative of modernity.

Opening on October 20 during an evening event organized by the Matignon Saint-Honoré association.

More information to come.

Why talk about a constellation?

The image does justice to the reality of these foreign artists who came to Paris. Every one of them shines with their own intensity, charts their own path, but together, they form a dense and interconnected artistic landscape. Contrary to the idea of an artistic homogeneous School, the constellation expresses both the plurality and the influence of a specific moment and place.

“Through its initiative, its cosmopolitanism, its impartiality, its goodwill, its arts, its literature, its language, its industry, its spirit of invention, its instinct for justice and freedom, its eternal struggle, its heroism of yesterday and forever, its revolutions, Paris is the dazzling and mysterious engine of universal progress.”
Victor Hugo
