BRAFA

25th January - 1st February

The A&R Fleury gallery is pleased to announce its 17th participation in BRAFA. On this occasion, the gallery is presenting a new project dedicated to the Cinétisations of Belgian artist Pol Bury. For the first time, these unique photomontages, paying tribute to the city of Nice, will be brought together and unveiled at the booth.

A second space will be dedicated to the gallery’s leading artists, including Sam Francis, Hans Hartung, Simon Hantaï, Serge Poliakoff, Pierre Soulages, Bernar Venet, and others. This year, the gallery has chosen to highlight the two winners of the São Paulo Biennial (1961) by combining the exceptional paintings of Maria Helena Vieira Da Silva with the dynamic sculptures of Alicia Penalba.

Vieira da Silva / Penalba

A&R Fleury gallery is pleased to present “The Path to Consecration”. This historical focus revisits a key period in the careers of Maria Helena Vieira da Silva and Alicia Penalba, from their rise on the post-war Parisian art scene to their international consecration at the São Paulo Biennial in 1961. This unprecedented ensemble brings their works together for the first time in Brussels and explores the many artistic and personal similarities in their practices.
