Art Paris Art Fair

9th - 12th September 2021

At Art Paris Art Fair, the first art fair to be held at the Grand Palais Éphémère, Alexandre and Richard Fleury are pleased to present a collection of works by the great names of post-war abstraction: Maria Helena Vieira da Silva, Hans Hartung, Serge Poliakoff, Pierre Soulages, Simon Hantai, Georges Mathieu and Jean-Paul Riopelle.

At the same time, the gallery pays tribute to Alicia Penalba (1913-1982), an Argentinian artist and an “exceptional sculptor, endowed with an intense vitality,” according to Michel Ragon. Before devoting a monographic exhibition to her, Le langage des formes, from September 15th to October 30th, the gallery will present several bronzes emblematic of her work and her career in a dedicated space including: Ancêtre papillon, one of her first sculptures with a vertical and powerful rhythm, seeming to contain a hidden and erotic world in its heart, and Rumeur d’ailes, a spectacular bronze from the 1970s, representative of that period when the fragile balance of volumes appeared to defy gravity.
