BRAFA in the galleries

27th - 31st January 2021

This year, BRAFA is reinventing itself and launching the alternative edition Brafa in the galleries from January 27th to 31st, 2021. Alexandre and Richard Fleury, who have been taking partin the Brussels fair for almost 15 years, are pleased to be associated with it by presenting a selection of works of modern and post-war art.

On this occasion, A&R Fleury is creating a new showcase in its space at 36 avenue Matignon, recalling the scenographies proposed during each edition of this first art market event of the year.

Abstraction from the 1950s to the 1980s is particularly highlighted, with significant paintings by Sam Francis, Simon Hantaï, Hans Hartung, Serge Poliakoff, Jean-Paul Riopelle, Geer van Velde and Maria Helena Vieira da Silva. Within this ensemble, a magnificent bronze sculpture by the South American artist Alicia Penalba gives all its place to abstract post-war sculpture. The gallery, which regularly exhibits her work, also devoted an important monographic exhibition to her in the autumn of 2021.

A rich selection of works by Le Corbusier, Max Ernst, Fernand Léger, Joan Miró and Ossip Zadkine highlights the great names of modern art, which the gallery has been representing since its inception.
